Passport Services
Please read the following carefully and fulfill all the requirements.
To Acquire a New Passport for a First-Time Applicant
- Two recent, color passport-size photographs;
- Any supporting documents showing Ethiopian citizenship (i.e. birth certificate, kebele ID, school certificates, etc.);
- Copy of a Green card (both sides) or I-94 INS papers;
- Service fee of $50.00 payable to the The Consulate General of Ethiopia in the form of a money order;
- An envelope with return address and sufficient prepaid postage (for those using mail service);
Replacing an Old Passport or Expired Passport
- Two recent, color passport-size photographs;
- Present your existing passport;
- Copy of Green card (both sides) or I-94 INS papers;
- Service fee of $50.00 payable to the The Consulate General of Ethiopia in the form of a money order;
- An envelope with return address and sufficient prepaid postage (for those using mail service)

Requirements for Replacing a Lost Passport
- Two recent, color passport-size photographs;
- Any supporting documents showing Ethiopian citizenship (i.e. birth certificate, kebele ID, school certificates, etc.);
- Copy of Green card (both sides) or I-94 INS papers;
- Service fee of $60.00 payable to the The Consulate General of Ethiopia in the form of a money order;
- An envelope with return address and sufficient prepaid postage (for those using mail service);
Requirements for Renewing a Passport
- Present your current Passport;
- Copy of Green card (both sides) or I-94 INS papers;
- Service fee of $50.00 payable to the The Consulate General of Ethiopia in the form of a money order;
- An envelope with return address and sufficient prepaid postage (for those using mail service);
