A call for supporters and friends of the Amhara Development Association

The Amhara Development Association (ADA) is an indigenous grass root organization working towards the development of its region and people. Its goal is to create awareness regarding the continual support and development in respect to growth and economic achievements as a non for profit organization.  With its clear vision, compelling objectives and tangible goals the ADA has been at the forefront in the struggle to alleviate poverty in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. In order to accomplish its objectives the organization is preparing for its historical and land mark Telethon Fund Raising Event scheduled on the last week of February 2010. Since its establishment the Association in collaboration with the regional State Administration, major international and local donor agencies and expatriate supporters has raised over 300 million Birr to construct rural roads, build schools, public libraries and health clinics. It has also distributed over a million academic books and constructed adult technical training centers. Its highly acclaimed Peer Tutoring Group program has especially been designed for young girls have won national recognition.

The ADA in its continuous endeavor to serve the people of Amhara has set a goal to raise funds from Ethiopians who support the association and also from non-governmental organizations, foundations and charity organizations both at home and abroad.
